Day 53, Dubrovnik, Croatia

Some impressive walls there
Pinch and a punch, 1st of August. What a beautiful warm day. No rush this morning, so washing done and dad washed my car as it got really dirty under some trees in Sarajevo.
Adriatic coastline view from the top

Then caught the bus to Old Town Dubrovnik, a lovely wander about the town, and oh so warm. The town itself is built within huge as city walls, the first ones built in the 8th century, but most in the 15th and 16th century. The walls are 4-6 metres thick on the landward  side and 1.5-3 meters on the seaward side. It must have felt very safe living there, even a huge earthquake in 1667 didn't do much damage.

We took the gondola ride up and had some absolutely stunning views of Dubrovnik and the coast. Time for ice cream and the bus home.
Later a walk to the beach and a swim in the Adriatic Sea, gorgeous and warm, dad can't remember the last time he swam in the sea. Was a lot of fun, and may have to go again before we leave here.

Swimming beach
Pizza and beer, with live music again, nice finish to a great day being holiday makers
