Day 55, Dubrovnik to Solin(Split), Croatia

Adriatic Coast
We left Dubrovnik today and traveled north, towards Split. Absolutely beautiful drive, so scenic, as we followed the Adriatic coast line the whole way. Great roads, winding but not too steep. We had to cross the border and go into Bosnia, then back again into Croatia. Really weird, obviously the Bosnians wanted a bit of coast line in their otherwise landlocked country, so they have approximately 30 k's worth of coast with a big as city in it!
Stopped at a roadside place, take some photos. Was a man selling fruit, so got some nice grapes and apricots. Had a bottle of what looked like lemonchello, so I asked. No, no, that is just lemon juice. But wait, I have something for you. So out he gets from under the counter a bottle of lemonchello, 50%. Wow, only need a small one of those, but pretty darn good. He was a great old chap, shook hands as we left.
Accommodation tonight a big apartment, with a washing machine, yay! So had to do washing, as you do. The host was so nice and welcoming, a cold beer included.
A walk to the archeological site, just down the road, dating from 300 BC, with an amphitheater. Quite a wee walk to the amphitheater in the heat for dad, but he's managing well for an old bugger.
Visiting the archaeological site
Drove around for close to an hour tonight trying to find a restaurant with no luck. Lots of places selling just alcohol, but no food, so eventually we gave up as it was 9 o'clock and had a piece of toast instead, haha!
